SKUAST-K, Cancer Society of Kashmir organise breast cancer awareness prog

Srinagar: In a praiseworthy effort to raise awareness about breast cancer, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) partnered with the Cancer Society of Kashmir organized a comprehensive one-day breast cancer awareness program.
The event held at SKUAST-K, Shalimar campus, brought together a strong gathering of five hundred female students, faculty members and non-teaching staff from various faculties

According to statement, a large number of patients who had come from different corners of Kashmir Valley were examined.  Poor and deserving patients who are registered with the society were provided free anti-cancer drugs as a matter of routine. Other supportive drugs required for G.I treatments were provided to all patients free of cost.
Endoscopy Screening of around 42 patients and Ultrasonography of 35 patients was also conducted free of cost on this occasion.
Besides, many discussions and awareness sessions about this dreaded disease were held on All India Radio Srinagar and Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar. Wide publicity was also given in all the leading dailies of the Valley.
