Calhoun County housing authorities recently received more than $1 million in funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Capital Fund Program.  The Battle Creek Housing Commission was awarded $726,936 and the Albion Housing Commission was awarded $361,118.  The federal money can be used to fund projects to build, renovate or modernize the public housing in the communities.
