Officers “responded to a 911 call of a person shot on South Genesee Street between Harper Avenue and East Ramsdell Street in the West Hills neighborhood” just after 6 p.m., Capt. Anthony Duff said in a release. “A 25-year-old New Haven man had been shot in the thigh. An ambulance transported the victim with non-life-threatening injuries to Yale New Haven Hospital,” Duff said. “On South Genesee Street, officers held a crime scene at the back yard and porch of a residence. Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the shooting.” ....
