Cleveland's St. Vincent Charity Medical Center's emergency department closed in November of 2022. But since then, people have continued to show up looking for care. Community members and advocates say that's because many people don't know the ER closed. They are also advocating for it to reopen. Hospital and public health experts say, however, the closure was necessary and don't see a path for it to reopen.
