Home fire closes Casey Key Road in Sarasota County A fire on Casey Key closed the island's road early Wednesday, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office reports. According to the Sheriff's Office, a fire at a home in the 2500 block of Casey Key Road closed the road from the 2300 block to the 2700 block shortly before 3 a.m. The home's occupants and neighbors are safe and were evacuated. One lane of the road reopened at about 5 p.m. and all lanes were opened early Thursday.
