Slot 3 Writers Group (30/01) - University of Sydney Union | University of Sydney Union

SLOT 3 2024: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS- WRITER’S CALLOUT

Slot 3 is back in 2024 and better than ever! We’ve expanded the length which you can write, which is now 5-25 minutes, allowing for both your quickest sketch or a more complex piece. We’re also creating a writer’s group to meet over the summer break, to help support our writer’s process and workshop the pieces.

OUR THEME: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS What goes on behind a closed door? A secret lover's tryst? A clandestine deal? A meeting where no one wants to let cold air in? Could it be something funny? Something serious? Both? So many possibilities! Let your mind run wild and come write for Slot 3!

WRITER’S GROUP This is an opportunity for our SUDS writers to come together to support each other’s work for SLOT 3. This group will be an opportunity to brainstorm, work with other writers, and workshop and improve your writing. We may even have some guest writers come and help workshop… Who knows what we have up our sleeves… Writers can elect to write their piece by themselves, or co-write with someone else! If you’re interested, please fill out the form linked on this page. If you forget to fill out the form, don’t worry, you can still rock up to the writer’s group anyways. If you’re interested in writing but can’t make the writer’s group for any reason, send us an email on sudsthewash@gmail.com. Any other questions can also be directed to sudsthewash@gmail.com.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY SUDS acknowledges that the University of Sydney and the Cellar Theatre reside on stolen land; the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. As a society that exists to tell stories, it is important to acknowledge that stories were being told on this land for thousands of years before British colonisation. Sovereignty was never ceded – Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land.
