monument, repair work could keep the landmark closed for years. we ll begin with the clean- up damage in fredericksburg, virginia, following another violent storm. good evening. i m brian bolter. i m shawn yancy. that storm left several people hurt and badly damaged several buildings and cars. fox 5 s laura evans is following the story for us tonight. the washington area seems to have had a bull s eye on its back lately. the damage from sunday s storm in spotsylvania county is severe and we now know it was caused by a microburst. that was confirmed by the national weather service just today. tonight the community is amazed that no one was killed in this mess. the damage is extensive, so dramatic it looks like a tornado caused this, but we now know it was a microburst that ripped this building to shreds. it was like white everywhere like you couldn t really tell what was like you couldn t see anything. reporter: these girls and about two dozen other cheerlead ....
devastating as last week, but it did bring trees and branches into power lines causing some outages. here s how things stand right now. dominion customers got hit the hardest it seems, dominion reporting just under 10,000 outages this hour down from nearly 15,000 about one hour ago. pepco is reporting more than 1,800 outages all from tonight s storm. bg and e is reporting just under 100 outages in the washington area. we are tracking the trouble. let s head right to gwen tolbart in the fox 5 weather center. things have taken a lull in some areas, but the problem is our dew points are still very high and that has caused some more storms to start to kick up. let s look at vipir. we ll show you what we re talking about. you can see there is an area of storms just moving across the bay from annapolis and that s a pretty strong band right there. then we just recently had a severe thunderstorm warning end. that ended at 10:00 and that was for areas such as the shenandoah, w ....
