resident. it closed on friday because of the construction accident. it was shut down on friday might and they re-opened it saturday afternoon and they closed it last night. pg&e crews had the monday morning commute this their mine as they worked. we work away the clock to satisfactorily complete this work and we met our target of, a.m. to open 101 along with c.h.p. and caltrain. it has been an incredible undertaking over the weekend and our crews have worked around the clock to get this temporary solution in place. the accident happened on the site of the broadway overpass project, pg&e said that a third party contractor caused the accident. no one was hurt. no one lost power. c.h.p. said this is the long of the shut down on highway 101 in recent memory and they had no major problems but some people, though, were driving through the closure and they had to get them out of there. if you were we ared about the commute, no need to worry, highway 101 is open and availab ....
that being from anza to broadway from 10:00 p.m. tomorrow night to 4:00 a.m. something to keep in mind. according to pg & e about, 9:30, a third party contractor for caltrans working on the broadway inchange with an excavator hit a high voltage tower. it collapsed. 101 was shut down. huge back-up. traffic had to be rerouted as pg & e worked on the repair. there is a lot more going. on significantly more power going through lines. that s why it was such a complicated process to do so. to make the safe and do so well. now, that broken power was lifted up out of its position late this afternoon. one lane, northbound, still impacted. traffic on side streets, still very clogged late this afternoon. it took us about two hours to get here from the east bay. 101 is open. another closure planned for tomorrow night. reporting live, nbc bay area news. thanks for the heads up. what a headache for anyone trying to drive between san francisco and the peninsula in either directi ....
monument boulevard and 680, blocks from the concord costco. police say the wife reported her husband was drunk and mixing chemicals. contra costa county hazmat crews and the walmart creek bomb squad were called in. they say there was a heavy chemical smell in the air. they evacuated 50 or 60 people living nearby including the man s wife and two children. we evacuated the whole block. this area, we have a lot of apartment complexes, a lot of families, a lot of children. we want to make sure we took the right steps to get all these people out of the area just in case something should happen. police say the man did comply with orders to come out of the house. he is under arrest for child endangerment and other charges. no one was hurt. police say people should be able to return to their homes as soon as the fumes dispait. we ll continue to follow this breaking news and bring you the latest updates tomorrow morning on today in the bay. you can download our nbc bay are ....
