The UK government has said it took reports of secret Chinese police stations overseas “extremely seriously”. This comes after newspaper claims about a London- based businessman with links to Conservative politicians. The Times of India said Chinese businessman Lin Ruiyou operated a food delivery business in the London suburb of Croydon that doubled as an undeclared Chinese police station.
Activists are now concerned that there may be as many as six illegal Chinese “secret police” stations around the country.
