Duchess of Cambridge: Our fashion favourites

Official White House Photo by Pete Souza
With a new book coming out to mark the Duchess of Cambridge’s fashion during her decade in the Royal Family, we are taking a look at our favourite outfits in her wardrobe. From her trousers to her glamorous gala gowns with tiaras, let’s dive into some of Kate’s best fashion.

My first choice is one that many don’t like. I absolutely loved the gold and white Alexander McQueen gown that Kate wore during her and William’s trip to Malaysia back in 2012. I thought she looked stunning, and I kept hoping she would re-wear it at some point. I got my wish last year when she wore it to the 2020 BAFTAs. She had done some alterations to the sleeves that I wasn’t fond of (I thought the original sleeves looked better), but nevertheless, I was happy to see her dust the gown off and wear it again! Our 2020 royal fashion favourites

31st December 2020
It’s been a weird and wild year, but even with lockdowns and a lower number of engagements, we’ve still been treated to some great royal fashion. Our editorial team is taking a look back at 2020’s most memorable looks and sharing some of our favourites.
Looking back I can hardly believe some of these engagements actually happened in 2020; browsing the photos from this Buckingham Palace reception, I swore it took place last year! In any case, I absolutely adored the Duchess of Cambridge’s sparkly
Needle and Thread midi dress she wore for a January UK-Africa Investment Summit event. Red has always been a fabulous colour for Kate and the beautiful lace and sequin detailing really made her stand out from the crowd, plus I also loved how she coordinated with the Countess of Wessex. Following the departure announcement the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made earlier in January, this was a subtle reminder that these two women would be working together as senior royals for years to come. Our favourite Nobel looks

10th December 2020
This year the Nobel ceremonies and banquets have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Since the coronavirus has denied us our annual glamorous evening with the Swedish Royal Family, we are taking a look back at our favourite looks of the Swedish royal ladies during the Nobels.
Brittani Barger, Deputy Editor
My favourite Nobel look goes to Princess Madeleine and her custom grey Fadi el Khoury creation from the 2015 Nobel banquet. The glittery gown featured sheer long sleeves and buttons up the front and the back. She topped it off with the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara (on loan from her aunt, Princess Margaretha) that matched her blue eyes perfectly. It was such a gorgeous look that has always stood out to me. She also wore this gown for the fairytale tea party the following year with children from her patronage Min Stora Dag (like the Make-a-Wish Foundation), which makes it even more special in my eyes.
