A woman who lost her job because she was afraid to walk alone could not tell her employer it was due to an indecent assault by her former pastor, the New Plymouth District Court heard.
“I lost who I was,” she said in one of the four victim impact statements read at the sentencing hearing of Nicholas Keig.
Keig, former pastor of the C3 (Christian City Church) in New Plymouth, was found guilty of four charges of indecent assault following a judge-alone trial in November last year.

Review: Here We Go - Christian City Church, Oxford Falls

Reviewed by Nigel Harris
Christian City Churches are an evangelical, Pentecostal church movement of over 100 churches worldwide founded by Pastors Phil and Chris Pringle. Oxford Falls was their first church, based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia and 'Here We Go' features worship leaders and songwriters Nikki Fletcher, Joe Pringle and Ryan Smith with songs that are beginning to spread to congregations across the globe. The boys' style is powerful, rock-based praise in the style of bands like Delirious?, while Nikki brings a softer electro pop vibe to her compositions. The anthemic title track made history in April 2007, entering the ARIA Australian Top 100 Singles Chart at number 37 (and number 6 on the ARIA New South Wales singles sales list!), making it the highest-selling religious pop song since 1970. Being track one on the CD it slightly overshadows the next nine tracks, but only because it's such an outstanding song. The others stand up well in their own right. The final track is a terrific live recording of "Fear Not", Joe Pringle's new generation remix of dad Phil's classic. Taking the musicians over to Dreamlab in Los Angeles to record the studio tracks no doubt helped, and Daniel and Leah Pringle have done a great production job here, capturing the energy and spirit of this church. Great stuff.
