Apartment and common areas of the latest ebola victim. That victim is a nurse who helped care for thomas eric duncan, the ebola victim who died last week. Shes a 2010 graduate of texas tech university. And she remains in isolation at the hospital where she works. The system was established to protect those who cared for mr. Duncan as well as the community at large by identifying any potential ebola cases as early as possible and getting those individuals into treatment immediately. Ebola is transmitted by coming in contact with bodily fluids from an infected patient. The head for centers of Disease Control says breach in protocol exposed the nurse to the virus. Theyre focusing on several procedures where the breach couldve happened. The two areas well be looking particularly closely is the performance of kidney dialysis and respiratory. You can see there are traffic investigators here trying to gather all the information that they can. But the woman involved in this fatal crash was in the crosswalk here at 33rd and mckee. Witnesses tell police that theres no question that the pedestrian had the right of way because at this intersection when you press a button the lights start flashing. Now, a number of cars stopped to let the woman go by. But a driver heading westbound did not stop. He was traveling at a high rate of speed. The woman was thrown about 40 or 50 feet. When the paramedics arrived, they say she had a faint heartbeat but she was taken to a local hospital, where she died. Right now what were looking for is either chevy tahoe or suburban. It was light in color. We dont know if its silver, light brown, but we did get some good information from our witness. And right now were investigating the incident. Good evening, my name is jaimie gerber, i am the project coordinator for project what, thank you for having the space here tonight for us to talk. Thank you for all your hard work on dgo 7. 04 and thank you so much for taking the time to include youth voices in this process. Project what is really excited and really grateful to know that the chief is designing officer trainings on trauma and its effect on children. We feel that this is a really important opportunity to continue to include youth voices and to include the impact on children when their parents are being incarcerated. Our ask as project what would be to hopefully be included in the designing and planning of these trauma trainings and to be a part of regular meetings with the department to kind of keep up with the progress and formulation of these trainings.
