जायकोव-डी (ZyCoV-D) का इमरजेंसी यानि आपातकालीन स्थितियों में इसके इस्तेमाल के लिए अनुमति के लिए भारत के औषधि महानियंत्रक (DCGI)  से अपील की गयी है।(ZyCoV-D Emergency Usage )
भारत में वैक्सीन लगाने के लिए प्राथमिकता तय की गयी है और उसी आधार पर नागरिकों को कोरोना का टीका लगाया जाएगा। लेकिन, इन सबके बीच सवाल यह भी उठ रहा है कि क्या गर्भवती महिलाओं को भी कोविड-19 की वैक्सीन लगायी जाएगी? (Covid-19 Vaccine in Pregnancy safety)
यूरोपियन कमीशन ने बीते शुक्रवार को 12 वर्ष से अधिक उम्र के बच्चों को ने फाइजर-बायोएनटेक की कोविड-19 वैक्सीन लगाने की अनुमति दे दी।
एक सर्वे में ये बात सामने आई है कि लगभग 33.6 % लोगों ने माना है कि कोरोना वैक्सीन का कम दुष्प्रभाव नजर आया है, जबकि 57.2 प्रतिशत लोगों को ना तो कोई साइड एफेक्ट हुआ और ना ही टीके की खुराक के बाद बीमार पड़े।

एक नए शोध के अनुसार, पहले टीके के बाद दूसरा टीका 9 सप्ताह के बाद लगवाया जा सकता है। तब जाकर पहले टीके का असर बनेगा। हां, बचाव भी रखना पड़ेगा, क्योंकि पूरी 90 प्रतिशत प्रतिरोधक क्षमता नहीं आएगी।
कोच्चि स्थित अमृता अस्पताल में आंतरिक चिकित्सा विभाग के एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर डॉ. दीपू टी. एस. का कहना है, ''कोविशील्ड वैक्सीन की प्रभावकारिता पर इसका नकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ने की संभावना नहीं है। वैक्सीन की पहली खुराक द्वारा विकसित प्रतिरक्षा स्मृति लंबे समय तक रहने की संभावना होगी।''
मंगलवार को 2-18 आयु वर्ग के लिए एक्सपर्ट कमिटी ने भारत बायोटेक द्वारा बनाए जा रहे टीके कोवैक्सीन के  ट्रायल्स को मंज़ूरी दे दी। यह मंज़ूरी दूसरे और तीसरे चरण के लिए है। पहले चरण के ट्रायल्स के लिए मंज़ूरी पहले ही दी जा चुकी थी। (Corona Vaccine for Children in India)
सोमवार यानि 10 मई को एफडीए ने फाइजर-बायोएनटेक की कोविड वैक्सीन को 12-15 वर्ष के आयु वर्ग के लिए आपातकाल में इस्तेमाल करने के लिए आवश्यक मंज़ूरी दे दी है। एफडीए की तरफ से जारी बयान में कहा गया कि, महामारी के खिलाफ लड़ाई में यह एक महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय है। (Covid-19 Vaccine for Children in Hindi)
