Lake Superior State University to survey Cadillac households to help city qualify for community development bick grants

CADILLAC â The City of Cadillac is working with Lake Superior State University researchers to survey a random selection of residents to update basic demographic information to try to become eligible to qualify for grants and programs (outside funding), to assist in revitalizing City infrastructure. Researchers from the Community Research Center at Lake Superior State University will be visiting randomly selected households over the next few weeks to conduct a short, anonymous survey of the following information:
1. Your householdâs size and income level (with only one category â Do you make above or below an amount based upon the number of people in your household?). ....

Door-to-door income survey getting underway

The researchers won t be asking for a specific dollar amountâthey ll just want to know if you make above or below a threshold that will be based on your household size.
The city of Cadillac issued a reminder this week that Lake Superior State University researchers will be surveying a random selection of residents.
The research could help the city update demographic information that could help the city qualify for funding. Recently, the city wasn t eligible for outside funding because the city didn t qualify as a low-income community.
The survey will take one to two minutes and will be anonymous. ....

BELFAST The City of Belfast is working to secure a grant from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Housing Assistance Program on behalf of Developers Collaborative, a developer that is planning to construct new housing at the site of City of Belfast’s former public works facility at 115 Congress Street.
This program can award grants of up to $500,000 that can be used for the rehabilitation of occupied or vacant multi-family housing units and for the conversion of non-residential structures to multi-family housing, but which also can be used for paying for soft (non-construction) costs related to the construction of new housing for low- and moderate-income persons, according to an April 28 news release from the city’s economic development director. ....

The Round Rock City Council on Thursday, April 22, approved $84.7 million in debt for new roads, a convention center and public infrastructure at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions.
The Round Rock City Council on Thursday night approved $84.7 million in debt to pay for road improvements, a convention center and public infrastructure at Kalahari Resorts.
City officials said the five debt issuances will be backed by property taxes that were rated AAA the highest rate possible by S&P Global.
Our excellent bond ratings mean we can borrow these critical funds at the lowest possible cost, said Mayor Craig Morgan. The money we re investing in infrastructure and major economic development partnerships will have an even greater return because of the city s outstanding financial stewardsh ....
