Before i hand it over to the super intent ent i would like to issue a reminder on the board rules, both the brown act and the Unified School District mandate the inclusion and we take this very seriously, our board policies and the law of california gives me the authority and obligations to enforce board policies and procedures to ensure that all individuals who sign up to speak are given an opportunity to have their position heard and at the same time we are all given the opportunity to listen to what is being said. We must continually remind ourselves that part of our responsibilities as commissioners and employees and students and citizens is to model behavior for children. We do that best by stating our beliefs clearly, when it is our turn to speak and by listening attentatively to others when it is their turn to speak.
