As global manufacturer Woodward Inc. expands its operations into a fourth building at its Zeeland campus, its additive manufacturing process (3D printing) is expected to grow the company’s West Michigan workforce. Lakeshore Advantage receives $92K grant to usher in Industry 4.0 readiness. Lakeshore Advantage applied for the grant in partnership with The Right Place, Greater Muskegon Economic Development, and Michigan Manufacturing Technical Center-West. Implementing Industry 4.0 technologies helps manufacturers improve efficiency, increase revenues, and expand innovation.
Sentinel Staff HOLLAND The Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area (CFHZ) announced Thursday $176,880 in grant awards through its Community Stabilization Fund. The grants awarded focus on three areas of investment financial stability, mental health and substance abuse and education. Good Samaritan Ministries received $50,000 to continue its eviction diversion program. The program helped 487 families remain in their homes in 2020, and will have an opportunity to receive additional federal funds to continue and expand upon that work. Community Action House was awarded a $15,000 grant to increase the amount of food secured through its “food rescue” efforts. The funding helped CAH procure equipment needed to increase their efforts by 17,500 pounds of feed every month.

The plan uses an assessment and software program to recommend dietary and lifestyle changes that can improve physical-emotional health, and reduce dementia risk. GVSU scholarship program helps to make college possible for first-generation students. A scholarship is available to cover tuition, fees, housing and dining, plus a book stipend essentially a full ride for eight semesters as part of a partnership between GVSU, the W.K.
