Voting Liz Cheney out of leadership role a bad move for GOP | Letter Updated 10:13 AM; In 1615, Galileo Galilei appeared before the Roman Inquisition, to defend his theory of heliocentrism – that the Earth and planets revolve around the sun. An inquisitional committee declared heliocentrism “heretical” and Pope Paul V decreed that Galileo be ordered to abandon heliocentrism. Cheney also voted to impeach Trump during his second impeachment trial, drawing the ire of Trump as well as his large supporter base within the party. Some Republicans have accused her of capitulating to the Democratic Party. ....

We’ve reported extensively on the war of words between the two camps, and on how Cheney has heavily depended on liberal media outlets who have never been friendly to the GOP in order to get her “message” out. In addition to that have been her epic lapses in judgment in relying on “bombshell” news reports from those same outlets about former President Trump that turned out to be fake news. ....
