Northallerton road closures for redevelopment


MAIN roads through Northallerton will be closed off during evenings next week while major resurfacing work is carried out as part of redevelopment in the town centre.
North Yorkshire county council s highways team is undertaking the essential work on East Road and Crosby Road from Monday March 15 for five days between 6pm and 11pm.
The work is being done as part of Hambleton District Council’s ‘Connections Project’ which is joining Northallerton High Street to the new Treadmills scheme on the former prison site. The project is being partly paid for by the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership. ....

As the United States breaks the record for most deaths in one day this Wednesday, the strain on healthcare and essential workers has become immense. A recent AP article brought color to the situation, stating workers are “depressed, disheartened and tired to the bone.” Yet, as COVID-19 rages on and the impact on frontline workers becomes increasingly high, company support has been on the decline. Nurses are some of the most overworked frontline employees and many of them have not been able to see their families since the beginning of the year.
