About to go back into their hoals after a dangerous threat. This morning the Monticello Fire Department responded to a gas leak. Homes and nearly 30 businesses were evacuated. Monticello Police Department says people who live north and west of the leak area may smell natural gas or the odor of rotten eggs. Thats while crews continue to fix the issue. They say its not harmful or hazardous. Were told to go to the Community Building while crews worked to solve the problem.
