Adan Canto, Mexican actor of X-Men and Narcos, dies at 42. His publicist, Jennifer Allen, reported that Canto has died of appendix cancer. Canto leaves behind his wife, Stephanie Ann Canto and their two children, Roman Alder, 3, and little Eve Josephine, 18 months. He was playing Armand Morales on the Fox series The Cleaning Lady, which is currently filming its third season. Piper Laurie, legendary actress known for her portrayal of the ultra-religious mother in 'Carrie' and for playing Paul Newman's despondent girlfriend in 'The Hustler', died on Saturday at the age of 91. Laurie died in the early hours of Saturday morning in the city of Los Angeles, her manager, Marion Rosenberg, confirmed to CNN. Laurie garnered three Oscar nominations throughout her career and won an Emmy. British film director and screenwriter Terence Davies has died at the age of 77. He died after a brief period of illness, his representative said in a statement. The statement includes the Latin words "Umbra Sumus," by the poet Horace, and an excerpt from "When I Am Dead, My Dearest," both of which had special meaning for Davies. He is best known for his films "Children," "Madonna And Child" and "Death And Transfiguration" ....
British actor Jake Abraham, known for being one of the clumsy thieves who are commissioned to steal two antique shotguns in the movie 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels', has died at the age of 56. Abraham, who also starred in films such as "Mean Machine" and "Formula 51," announced in July that he was suffering from prostate cancer. The actor said he was receiving palliative care as the cancer had metastasized and he had tumors in his spine, hip and bladder. "He was a wonderful actor, a great member of the company and was well-liked by many in the industry," said Liverpool theatre director and producer Bill Elms. ....
