Lance Lynn gave up three home runs in his Dodgers debut, Mookie Betts hit his 28th homer and Los Angeles beat the Oakland Athletics 7-3 on Tuesday night. Traded last week by the Chicago White Sox, Lynn retired the first seven batters he faced. Zack Gelof went deep in the sixth.
Sparked by the young guy and the old man, the Cincinnati Reds took over sole possession of first place in the NL Central. The Dodgers, though, sent the game into extra innings with four runs in the ninth and won it in the 10th when James Outman's double scored Chris Taylor with the winning run.
