Coronavirus vaccines are breaking the link between cases and deaths, scientists behind a major surveillance study tracking England s outbreak claimed today.
Imperial College London epidemiologists found while Covid infections appeared to have levelled off in early April, fatalities linked to the virus were still falling which would not have been expected during the first or second wave.
They said this signalled how the successful vaccine roll-out may already be beating the virus. More than 31million Britons or three in five adults have received a first dose so far.  ....

The former CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre has branded Britain s new China policy confusing after it was labelled a competitor while Russia will be seen as a hostile state .
Ciaran Martin, the previous head of cyber security at GCHQ, warned the government must be cautious on depending on President Xi Jinping for technology.
His comments come ahead of Tuesday s foreign policy review, which will outline plans to increase spending on the UK s cyberwarfare capability to combat the threat posed by Beijing and Moscow. ....

Britain s largest family The Radfords have revealed their food bills have skyrocketed during the Covid-19 pandemic because their 22 children are constantly eating.
22 Kids and Counting, a 4-part programme on Channel 5 which starts tomorrow, will document the Lancashire-based family s life during lockdown and the perils of homeschooling.
Parents Sue, 45, and Noel, 50, share 22 children, with their youngest, Heidi, being born in April last year. 
On average, the family consumes 16 pints of milk and four loaves of bread a day, and 24 toilet rolls, three tubes of toothpaste and 80 yoghurts a week, with Sue telling The Mirror: Our food bill has nearly doubled as the children are constantly eating.   ....
