Cleveland Heights’ EC77 brand finds big audience

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio EC77, formerly known as Elusion Clothing, is a brand that’s sported by some of the biggest athletes in the country, but it started out as a small T-shirt business run out of Dani Merritt’s home in Cleveland Heights.
Merritt first founded Elusion Clothing about 15 years ago, inspired by an idea she first shared with friends at the University of Toledo in 2000. Merritt developed that idea when she moved home to attend school at Cuyahoga Community College in 2001.
Merritt created iron-on T-shirt designs from her home, sharing them with local DJs and athletes. Eventually, she said, the designs started to catch on with students at Cleveland Heights High School. She officially launched her business in 2006. ....
