Virtual conference to delve into family history, genealogy


A virtual conference with world-wide reach, offered for free by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will take place this week to anyone interested in family history and genealogy.
RootsTech Connect will be held Thursday through Saturday. With more than 200,000 people registered and representing every country around the world, this will be the largest RootsTech conference since the event began in 2011, according to a news release.
RootsTech, considered to be the largest family history conference in the world, is hosted by FamilySearch, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to helping all people discover their family story, the release said.

Nelson County Health System will operate clinic in Michigan, N.D.
Nelson County Health System will reopen Michigan Community Medical Clinic, located adjacent to U.S. Highway 2, where Dr. N. Boyd Hagen practiced for decades. Hagen retired in September 2020 after practicing in Nelson County for more than 40 years.

MICHIGAN, N.D. – The February reopening of the Michigan Community Medical Clinic will help ensure residents of northern Nelson County have access to primary care.

Jeffrey Wayne Kelly, 58, passed away peacefully at his home on Jan. 1, 2021. Jeff was born on April 2, 1962 in Salem, Ohio.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Diana; three sons and their spouses, Mathew (Erin), Zachary (Sarah) and Dustin (Angie); his four grandchildren, Harper (6), Camden (6), Michaela (2) and Riley (2); his mother, Darlene Kelly; and four siblings, Kenneth, Thomas, Julie and Anita. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas R. Kelly; and brother, Steven T. Kelly.
Jeff was a dedicated father and loving spouse who worked endlessly to provide for his family and set a good example. He lived a full life, traveled the world, and retired after 30 years of Federal Service to his country. He loved baseball, science fiction, fishing and music; passing these passions on to his children. He was always an active part of their lives; coaching sports teams and never missing games. He passed after a nine-year battle with Early-Onset Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia.
