David Alaba has reportedly turned down the advances of Liverpool for two reasons as he prepares to leave Bayern Munich.
Alaba will leave Bayern when his contract expires at the end of the season. It will bring an end to a glittering spell for the Austrian in Munich. He has won 10 Bundesliga titles with the club, including the last nine in a row. There have also been two Champions League triumphs in that time.
The versatile star was a key member of the Bayern squad that won that trophy last season. However, he is now ready to take up a fresh challenge.

Bayern Munich has proven once again that they are on a league of their own in Germany. They celebrated their ninth straight Bundesliga title with an emphatic 6-0 thrashing of Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday at home at the Allianz Arena.
Polish star Robert Lewandowski was in top form as he scored a hat-trick just a few hours after it was confirmed that the title was theirs. RB Leipzig, the only remaining title contenders, dropped out of the title race earlier in the evening after losing to Borussia Dortmund 3-2. That meant that they could no longer catch up on points after starting the match already seven points behind Bayern and with three games left to play.

Five key players as Bayern Munich win ninth straight league title
Berlin (AFP) – Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga for the ninth straight season on Saturday.
Here, AFP Sport looks at five key players who helped maintain their grip on the German top flight:
Robert Lewandowski
FIFA’s best male player of 2020 has again been deadly in front of goal this season, netting 39 of Bayern’s 92 league goals so far.
His hat-trick in Saturday’s 6-0 thumping of Borussia Moenchengladbach leaves Lewandowski just one short of Gerd Mueller’s all-time record of 40 goals in a Bundesliga season, scored in 1971/72.
Lewandowski’s goals often bail Bayern out of trouble, no more so when he scored four times, including a last-gasp penalty, in a tense 4-3 home win against Hertha Berlin last October.

Following a two week break that the squad desperately needed, Bayern Munich enter the final set of games more or less refreshed. With just three points needed to become champions, the team could even go into this game with the Meisterschale already in their hands — at the time of writing this into, RB Leipzig have not yet faced Borussia Dortmund, but their game happens before Bayern’s.
Should Leipzig lose, the result of this game becomes irrelevant. However, that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing else to play for. Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller are both chasing personal records — Lewy looking to beat Gerd Muller’s legendary 40 goal season, while Thomas wants to better his own Bundesliga assist record from last year.
