email article Actor David Lander, known for his role as Andrew "Squiggy" Squiggman on the sitcom "Laverne & Shirley," died at the age of 73 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, from complications of multiple sclerosis. In a statement to CNN, "David's family hopes his fans will remember him for all the laughter he brought into the world." Lander was originally diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1984, a year after "Laverne & Shirley" ended its 8-year run. He began to experience dizziness and numbness in his hands and feet. Back in the late 70s and early 80s, many of us would be in front of the TV on Tuesday evening, watching "Laverne and Shirley" on ABC. Two of Laverne and Shirley's friends were Lenny and Squiggy. In 1979, an album featuring Lenny and Squiggy was released on the Casablanca record label. The rockets of the ’60s, anyway.  That mystery space object that has been orbiting the Earth recently has finally been identified, and it’s exactly what scientists thought it might be: a rocket booster from the September 20, 1966, Surveyor 2 mission to the moon.
