Fans, businesses prepare for third championship boat parade in 10 months

Thousands of Bolts fans will hit the Riverwalk to celebrate our back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions. Monday's boat parade will be the city's third boat parade in just 10 months. FOX 13's Jordan Bowen has the story.
TAMPA, Fla. - Thousands of bolts fans will converge on the riverfront Monday morning for a boat parade to celebrate back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In less than 24 hours, the waters of Champa Bay will be a sea of Lightning fans.
"It's incredible. It's something that is only done in Tampa. Only ever going to be done in Tampa I hope. It's uniquely us," Bolts fan Neal Hargis said.

Is Florida no longer the lightning capital?
Apparently, Oklahoma has had more flashes in the sky than the Sunshine State, but Florida still has more cloud to ground strikes than any other state.
TAMPA, Fla. - One other state has more lightning events than Florida, according to a company out of Finland. However, experts have argued there are some nuances in the types of lightning events the study included.
Vaisala is an environmental monitoring company that collects a variety of weather data, including lightning strike frequency. They indicated that Oklahoma may actually be the nation’s lightning capital.
