Tigers Set Men's 4×400 School Record to Close Out Weekend – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

GAINESVILLE, S.C.  Three Tigers set top-10 marks on Saturday to wrap up a successful Tom Jones Invitational. Two of the top-10 times came from the men's 800 meter run, as Tarees Rhoden and Aman Thornton both set personal bests in the event. The Tigers continued their run of good form this weekend and will be back in action on Saturday, Apr. 22 in Columbia, S.C. for the USC Open. SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS Tarees Rhoden shot up to No. 2 in school history in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:46.20. He is just 0.73 off catching Kameron Jones for the school record in the event. He finished second in Gainesville. Aman Thornton finished third in the 800 meter run and moved up to No. 4 in school history with a personal best time of 1:46.82. Oneka Wilson made it onto the top-10 list with a 13.31 second 100 meter hurdles time. She now holds the No. 10 spot in school history.   ....

Tigers Take Eight Wins on Final Day of Knights Invite

ORLANDO, Fla.  The Clemson track and field program concluded a sensational weekend at the Knights Invite on Saturday with eight event victories. This on the heels of a Friday performance that featured a school record performance and six event victories. Following her record-setting discus throw on Friday, Marie Forbes won the hammer throw on Saturday with a launch of 60.35 meters. Her male counterpart Daniel Cope also won the hammer throw with a mark of 53.44 meters. Freshman Ryan John earned a victory in the men's triple jump with a 15.24 meter leap. Jevon Williams, who won the 400 meter hurdles on Friday, won the 110 meter hurdles on Saturday with a 14.01 second time. De'Andre Anderson won the 400 meter run in 46.05 seconds. Wanya McCoy and Cameron Rose finished first and second, respectively, in the 100 meter dash. McCoy ran a personal best 10.30 to win the race while Rose trailed just behind with a time of 10.36. Tigers Wrap Up Yellow Jacket Invitational With Relay Victories

ATLANTA The Clemson track and field program opened its 2023 outdoor season on Friday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. Several Tigers earned victories in events to begin their seasons on the right foot. Competition at the Yellow Jacket Invitational will continue on Saturday at noon and conclude at 3:40 p.m. Antoinette Van der Merwe dominated the 100 meter hurdle field, winning the race with a time of 13.49 seconds, Second place was 13.77 seconds. Brynne Sumner won the 1500 meter race with a time of 4:27.34. Victor Ndiwa swept the race for the Tigers by running a 3:49.50. Maddie Dinneen took home the crown in her first collegiate steeplechase with a time of 10:51.43, while Madison Roush won the 5k with a time of 17:36.69. Courtney Farishian finished third (18:01.85).
