Often crossed the threshold between the two communities and veterans got lost. Soldiers returning from the recent conflicts, many of them with visible disabilities remind us that the connection is there and veterans with disabilities are still members of the Disability Community and part of the struggle for equal rights and community integration. On a personal note im very happy that one of our councilmembers was able to organize the event for today because this is a special time to be able to connect the two communities. About what are we going to do for Affordable Housing, the idea of the Housing Trust fund came out. The mayor asked for the big tent, got the big tent and got a lot of support from all walks of life in the city to put on the ballot the Housing Trust fund. The size of the Housing Trust fund was sized in part to not have an impact on the general fund. It was reflecting the debt service that was being paid, that was being freed up as redevelopment bonds both housing and nonhousing bonds were expiring.
