First-gen medical student ready to tackle next adventure – residency
After witnessing his aunt experience a massive cardiac event when he was young, UK College of Medicine-Nothern Kentucky campus student Dillon Powell was inspired to pursue a career in medicine, becoming the first in his family to earn a four-year college degree. This Friday, the former college football player will join thousands of hopeful young medical students across the country in celebrating Match Day, an annual event where future doctors learn where they have matched for residency.
