European Women's Ch.: Fataliyeva, Garcia and Piddubna share the lead

The top duels in the fifth round of the Women's European Championship ended in draws. This allowed 15-year-old Ukrainian WCM Bozhena Piddubna (pictured) to catch the leaders with a win. Double gold for Germany at the Mitropa Cup

As expected after the penultimate round, the German teams obtained a double victory at the Mitropa Cup and the Women’s Mitropa Cup. Sparkassen Chess Trophy 2024

The 1st Dortmund International Chess Days will take place from 10 to 18 August 2024 at the Cultural Centre Alte Schmiede in Dortmund. Dennis and Dinara Wagner claim victories at exciting German Masters

The German Masters was exciting right up to the final round. Alexander Donchenko, Dennis Wagner and Rasmus Svane battled it out for victory in the open tournament, while the women’s Masters saw Dinara Wagner and Hanna Marie Klek fighting for firs place in a direct duel. Germany beat Armenia to grab the sole lead after five rounds in the open section of the European Team Championship. Wins for Vincent Keymer and Matthias Bluebaum, both with black, gave the Germans match victory. Four teams are sharing second place a match point back, including Romania, who defeated the former co-leaders from Poland. Carlsen's Offerspill clear winners at European Chess Club Cup

An exciting final round of the European Club Cup in Durrës saw Offerspill and Superchess grabbing gold medals in the open and women’s sections, respectively. The Isle of Man's grand chess spectacle

The Isle of Man plays host once more to the chess world's crème de la crème, as the 3rd FIDE Grand Swiss and 2nd FIDE Women’s Grand Swiss tournaments are set to launch on 25 October. The return of these prestigious world championship qualifying competitions to the Isle of Man marks a momentous occasion. Over the course of 12 days, from 25 October to 5 November, the island in the Irish Sea will emerge as the epicentre of the chess world, hosting an elite assembly of top-tier players fighting for the prizes, prestige and a spot in the 2024 Candidates.
