Wallace House partners with Ford School for Speaker Series "Democracy in Crisis: Views from the Press"
In a partnership between the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, Wallace House, and U-M Democracy & Debate 2021-22, the Democracy in Crisis series will explore the current state of journalism and the role of the press in upholding democratic institutions. The series begins with three events in March featuring Molly Ball, Barton Gellman, and Sarah Kendzior, and will culminate in a keynote lecture by Pulitzer Prize winner Anne Applebaum.

Martin Tolchin, acclaimed DC journalist and founder of The Hill, dies at 93
Martin Tolchin, the founding publisher of The Hill and a 40-year veteran of The New York Times who covered New York’s City Hall and Congress and wrote several books on the power of patronage in politics, died Thursday at the age of 93.
