europe? >> well, i think we've seen time and time that one wave that starts in one part of the world often doesn't stay in that part of the world and often comes to the united states. we need to be prepared for that. we knew omicron would not be the last wave of covid that we saw. we can control how prepared we are for the next wave if and when it comes and our preparation is involving getting as many people vaccinated and boosted as possible. it saves lives. it also means making sure treatments are available and that people have access to testing. a lot of the infrastructure has been put in place and people i should say across our country have made incredible sacrifices to get us to the place where we are now. we've got to protect that progress. safeguard and make sure those tools are available for people. this is why the administration has been asking for congress to sustain the funding for the response. if we don't do that, people won't have the vaccines, treatments and tests they need. >> i've got a money question for you. to follow up, do i hear you

change campaigners, activists, they are not waiting to make their voices heard. several cities around the world, we'll see protests, even today ahead of the glasgow summit. the one in london will be led by teenage climate change activist and climate celebrity greta thunberg. the protest specifically is outside the standard charter banking headquarters here in london. they're kacalling on the financl sector to stop investing in fossil fuel projects, specifically standard charter bank as well. that bank did come out with a statement saying by 2030 it will no longer deal with any clients that are more than 5% reliant on coal. coal, as we know, emits a lot of methane that doesn't stay in the atmosphere as long as carbon. while it's there, it has a magnified impact on climate change. so the european union says that's sort of the low-hanging fruit when it comes to climate change action. it's calling on countries to
everybody in the united states. actually twice over. and yet, we have people not taking the vaccine. meanwhile in other parts of the world, in the continent of africa, asia, south america, there are countries struggling with significant outbreaks of covid. people are dying. and they're dieing to get the vaccine. and the problem with all of this is, as with as we have people who don't take the vaccines, the virus then replicates a lot more in people and to create an even worse variant. right now, we're dealing with the delta variant. let's hope that enough people get vaccinated so we don't see another even worse variant that makes all the vaccines we've taken ineffective. >> and to those who strictly see a matter of personal liberty, 00 eye say consider the people who can't make a choice, right? because they are kids or they have a medical condition that doesn't allow them the freedom of making the determination that they can get it for themselves. you get the final word. >> absolutely, we all have loved
