Sunday s op-ed piece described the dire economic and personal situation many college students in Texas face. The commentary stated that after a survey, Amarillo College discovered that many students struggled with child care, food insecurity and transportation. The school then addressed those issues and provided additional assistance with rent, utility bills and legal services. The writer then called for radical changes in our systems of education and training. Unfortunately, these issues are systemic, societal problems not limited to students. America needs to provide as many countries do better social services for all citizens. We need a more secure safety net and a livable wage for all workers. We need to re-examine our systemic problems and realize a broader definition of We the People. ....
