Washington DC (UPI) Feb 2, 2024 - The United States launched airstrikes in Syria and Iraq Friday in retaliation for the killing of three U.S. soldiers in Jordan last Sunday.
Air Force B-1 bombers were among the US aircraft that carried out strikes Friday in Iraq and Syria, a defense official told CNN.
Douglas Sims, the director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that the strikes in Iraq and Syria on Friday night were ordered because the weather was in their favor, allowing a clear view of targets.
