Residents displaced following house fire in S.F.’s Potrero Hill

The side San Francisco Fire Department fire truck. Firefighters responded to a one-alarm fire Wednesday believed to have been sparked by a barbecue.
A one-alarm fire reportedly ignited by a back deck barbecue overtook a Potrero Hill apartment building Wednesday afternoon in San Francisco, authorities said.
Firefighters called to 666 Vermont Street across from Downtown High School shortly after 1 p.m. found heavy flames in the rear of the apartment building, said fire department spokesman Jonathan Baxter. Crews extinguished the flames within the hour.
