That’s only a fraction of $450,000 worth of scholarship money at OU that’s under review after advice from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

Just over 78% of students enrolled across all OU campuses in 2024 are white, and white university employees make up 76.7% of full-time faculty on the Athens campus.

The SCOTUS ruling was disappointing, but expected. Yost’s interpretation of the ruling was again disappointing, unprecedented even, but expected. OU, however, had the option to stand by its employees in some capacity.

Attorney General Dave Yost informed university leaders that he sees race as unconstitutional criteria under the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard.
