Nearly £300 was raised as part of the Pyjamarama Day at Spring Meadow Primary School, in Harwich.
The slumber party with a difference was held in association with the Book Trust.
Youngsters were allowed to wear pyjamas to school and then spent the day sharing stories in dens built in their classrooms.

Assistant headteacher Katy Seacombe said: “It was a fantastic day and the children’s donations raised nearly £278.
“They got comfortable in their pyjamas and discussed their favourite stories, characters and authors.
