Yonkers Superintendent Edwin Quezada announced the decision to move to a 4 days a week schedule for in-person instruction in March. New York's "Big 5" urban school districts saw improved graduation rates in 2020, with Yonkers again leading the way. The Yonkers school district surpassed the state graduation rate and became the first of the Big 5 to reach a rate over 90%. Its 90.6% rate was 2.6 percentage points higher than in 2019.  The New York City schools, the state's largest system with over 1.1 million students, achieved a graduation rate of 78.8%, up from 77.3%.
