The National Electoral Council said Monday that the 470 candidates proposed for the National Assembly were validated as congressmen during the elections held on Sunday, including Elian Gonzalez Brotons, a Cuban kid that arrived to South Florida in 1999 and was the center of a diplomatic crisis between Cuba and the United States over an international custody case between the father of the minor in Cuba and the child's family in Miami.
