Source: GNA
Government has embarked on a tree planting project
Mr Emmanuel Okyere, The Western Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority, has commended the initiators of the Greening Ghana project to help rejuvenate the environment and increase the level of good air.
He said aside from Oxygen, trees gave food, served as windbreakers, shelter and stopped erosions and thus the need to have them more in the environment.
The NHIA Boss said this during a tree planting exercise at the compound and the frontage of the Regional office in Sekondi.
He said as health insurers, a good environment would ultimately reduce the disease burden and may save the Authority in the long term on the cost of avoidable diseases.

When protests against police brutality and systemic racism broke out nationwide last summer, Westerville was among the communities where people held rallies and put up Black Lives Matters signs.
Some teens in the northern suburb wanted to do more, though, to create lasting change.
A year later, they’re seeing that change in action as a group of recent graduates of Westerville City Schools helped raise enough money to award three $1,500 scholarships to high school students of color within the district. It’s called the “One Westerville Scholarship.”

“The scholarship idea, for me, provides longevity,” said Ameena Freeman, a 19-year-old who graduated from Westerville North High School in 2020 and helped lead the effort.
She and her partner in the endeavor,

"Greenhouse humidity and temperature a major concern in Ghana"

"Greenhouse humidity and temperature a major concern in Ghana"
Private agribusinesses have organized the Fresh Green Ghana Project Knowledge Sharing Conference to deliberate on promoting safe greenhouse production in Ghana.
CEO of Agri-Impact Consult, Dan Acquaye, shared the experience of his outfit in greenhouse production over the years.
According to him, despite the challenges in the sector, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture cannot be blame because the challenges are natural factors.
“The issue of humidity and temperature is still a major concern to greenhouse producers in Ghana. Hence, we design projects in Ghana to track temperature and humidity considering temperatures outside the greenhouse, inside the greenhouse and produce-in-transit,” he stated.
