Daytona State awarded $100,000 grant for career and technical education

Daytona State College has received the Entrepreneurship, Education and Training Grant from the Florida Department of Education. It is designed to introduce students in Career and Technical Education programs to the mindset required of successful entrepreneurs, while guiding and developing their entrepreneurial skills. The grant also allows the college to partner with local business and development organizations to promote long-term economic growth in Volusia and Flagler counties.
Through CTE programing, the project will promote and nurture an entrepreneurial mindset for Daytona State students. It is designed to deliver relevant instruction and experiential learning, provide individual guidance for students, and offer co-curricular activities in relation to the successful L. Gale Lemerand Entrepreneurial Speaker Series. The initiative also includes professional development for CTE faculty and the expansion of a CTE school-based enterprise to provide a skills demonstration site for entrepreneurial capabilities.

President, Institute of Entrepreneurial Excellence Innovation and Sustainability (IEEIS), Ngozi Ogoke has said it is high time the Government, youth and every Nigerian began to think and act like an entrepreneur in order to proffer solution to the country problems.
She maintained that it was the entrepreneurial mindset that brought about the production of vaccines from the developed world to combat Covid-19.
Ogoke who made this submission during a Webinar titled ‘The Entrepreneurial Mindset: Transforming Nigerian Economic Ecosystem’ said that entrepreneurs are not only critical thinkers but are the engines that drive an innovative and dynamic economy and as such, cultivating entrepreneurial activity can help turn around the long-term downward trends in new business creation.
