Advantage Energy, which in April created a joint venture to pursue the commercialisation of its low-cost modular carbon capture and storage (MCCS) technology, said June 2 it had signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) that could lead to the capture and sequestration of as much as 1mn mt of CO
2 annually.
The MOUs, reached between Entropy, the joint venture company, and four large emitters in western Canada, “represent an important step” in the commercial deployment of MCCS, Entropy said, and demonstrate its versatility across a broad range of applications and jurisdictions. ....

Entropy – or disorder – is created every time a clock ticks. Now scientists working with a tiny clock have proven a simple relationship: The more accurate a clock runs, the more entropy it generates.

Do men and women have different brains? Previous neuroimage studies sought to answer this question based on morphological difference between specific brain regions, reporting unfortunately conflicting results. In the present study, we aim to use a deep learning technique to address this challenge based on a large open-access, diffusion MRI database recorded from 1,065 young healthy subjects, including 490 men and 575 women healthy subjects. Different from commonly used 2D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), we proposed a 3D CNN method with a newly designed structure including three hidden layers in cascade with a linear layer and a terminal Softmax layer. Choices in those post-9/11 days and weeks was the onion. they released an issue dedicated to the 9/11 attacks. so at first this seems like a terrible, terrible idea. but when you look at what the writers of the onion did, you realize their brilliance. they were able to find some sort of common ground. what are we all feeling? and were able to find humor in that. as opposed to making light of something really terrible. and it was this amaze leg cathartic moment. it s a beautiful statement about the human species that eventually we will make a joke about everything. because it means that we are defying depression and loss and death and entropy to live. and time will give you the breath to do that. i like to test myself. by joking about horrible things and nothing but. one of my favorite ways to test myself? i like to make jokes about tragedies the day that they happen. i don t believe in too soon. i m on a tight schedule. too soon s tricky. ....
