The Supreme Court is considering whether to uphold an appeals court's decision to overturn Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's death sentence.
The court's liberal justices appeared incredulous about the actions of the district court judge in the original proceedings, but the conservatives appeared unpersuaded.
Last year an appeals court threw out the ruling over the bombing of the 2013 race.
