駐港公署：停止以新聞自由為幌子破壞特區法治
　　香港中通社7月11日電針對所謂“媒體自由聯盟”部分成員發表聲明，指責特區司法機關依法辦案，抹黑香港國安法，詆毀中央政府對港政策，中國外交部駐港公署發言人11日嚴正指出，這是對香港事務和中國內政的粗暴干涉，是對特區法治和司法獨立的公然踐踏，對此予以嚴厲譴責，表示強烈不滿和堅決反對。
　　發言人指出，《蘋果日報》是長期披著媒體外衣從事禍國亂港違法行為的“毒蘋果”，嚴重背離了新聞職業操守，嚴重破壞了香港媒體生態。該報有關負責人涉嫌勾結外部勢力危害國家安全，被特區警方依法採取行動是咎由自取。這是法治精神的真正體現，是維護香港法治的正當之舉，是廣大香港民眾的共同心聲，與新聞和言論自由扯不上任何關係。所謂“媒體自由聯盟”的部分成員，居然堂而皇之為如此無法無天的反中亂港媒體及其從業人員美化開脫，企圖借此向特區執法與司法機關施壓，嚴重褻瀆了法治精神，嚴重違背了媒體良知，再次拉低了他們的下限，暴露了他們的險惡用心。
　　發言人強調，新聞自由不是從事違法犯罪活動的擋箭牌，不是外部勢力插手香港事務的遮羞布。長期以來，一些西方國家在維護人權、新聞自由等方面劣跡斑斑，這些國家的個別媒體出於意識形態的傲慢與偏見，濫用新聞自由與新聞特權，炮制了多少假新聞，上演了多少出鬧劇！區區幾個所謂“媒體自由聯盟”的成員，既代表不了國際社會的絕大多數，也代表不了國際輿論的主流聲音，更無法撼動我們全面準確貫徹落實“一國兩制”、維護特區法治秩序、維護國家主權安全的堅定意志。我們敦促所謂“媒體自由聯盟”有關成員恪守國際法與國際關係基本準則，擯棄居高臨下、趾高氣揚的“教師爺”做派，停止包庇反中亂港勢力，停止打著新聞自由的幌子從事插手香港事務和中國內政的醜惡勾當，否則必將受到包括香港同胞在內全體中國人民的堅決回擊。
