Representative image MANGALURU: In one of the biggest seizures, the officers of Mangaluru customs have arrested two passengers, who arrived from Sharjah and seized 2.15kg of gold concealed gold in paste form in inner wear. The seized gold is valued about Rs 1.09 crore. Imamuddin Ahmed, commissioner of customs, Mangaluru said that based on intelligence and profiling of passengers, Customs sleuths intercepted Faizal Thotty Melparamba, 37 and Mohammad Shuhaib Mugu, 31, residents of Kasaragod, Kerala. They had arrived from Sharjah by Air India flight IX 1384 on January 14. On personal search both passengers found to have concealed gold in paste form in their inner wear. A total gold of 2.154 kg of 24k purity valued Rs 1.09 crore was recovered and seized. ....
