北京一师附小大队辅导员杨晓明介绍，学校鼓励学生们在建党百年这一重要的时间节点，到红色基地打卡，探寻红色基因。早在2021年寒假期间，学校便积极引导学生们参与东城区举办的线上打卡活动。在新京报发起“红色遗迹”打卡活动后，学校便积极参与，鼓励学生们亲自探访这些遗迹，并让参与打卡的学生们利用升旗仪式、广播时间分享自己的见闻和感受。
“在分享中，孩子们的情感特别真挚，他们并不是走马观花，而是真的感受到了红色基因和血脉，感受到了革命精神的激励，语言都是有感而发。”杨晓明介绍，升旗仪式是每周师生全员参与的活动，学校以“初心一百微党史宣讲”的形式，让孩子们分享党史知识，仪式感非常强。平时，学校也会开展少先队主题活动、班会、社会实践等形式，从不同方面营造学党史的氛围。
北京市东城区宝华里小学是北京一师附小的联盟校。据宝华里小学大队辅导员李珅介绍，学校通过每周一举办的“国旗下致辞”，宣讲一个红色基地的故事；在每周五的“红领巾广播”时间，小广播员还会通过四个栏目介绍党史。
此外，宝华里小学还营造了浓厚的党史学习氛围。学校有一面爱国主义教育墙，“九一八事变”、遵义会议、开国大典……每一块浮雕上均讲述一段重大的历史事件。在这一氛围影响下，学校四年级学生张轶然小记者在新京报举办的“红色遗迹”打卡行动中，率先来到了宛平城，走进中国人民抗日战争纪念馆“打卡”，累积学习素材。“学生们带回来红色基地的视频特别生动，给学校营造了很好的学习氛围。”李珅说。
经过一个学期的学习，杨晓明也从孩子们身上看到了成长与改变，“看到很多孩子写‘我长大了也要加入中国共产党，为祖国的发展多做贡献’，我们真切地感受到了‘红色基因’，‘红色’的种子就埋在了他们心中，生根发芽，终能长成参天大树。”她感慨道。
