Taking many steps to prevent fires. we tell them what to do if there is a fire or fire drill. we have them practicing safe exiting. we don't raise the temperature in the hallway, we don't put in realistic sound of fire, we don't have people screaming, we don't make it frightening. we tell them it's an unlikely occurrence but a reasonable step we can take. we shouldn't probably call this many active shooter drills. we should use another name that's not as frightening to kids and more about safety. we wouldn't start with a live exercise. we would simply say in a situation that we are doing this ...
