. WASHINGTON — The U.S. economy grew 1.6% in the first three months of the year because of rising coronavirus vaccinations and massive federal stimulus spending. It is on the verge of regaining all of its pandemic losses in coming months. The GDP report, released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis on Thursday, showed that consumers are spending more on things such as cars and homes.
