Jeremiah Davis Wins Fourth ACC Performer of the Week Honor in Five Weeks

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State Track and Field’s Jeremiah Davis was named the ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week for the fourth time this season on Tuesday  Davis won the first three conference performer of the week honors and this week’s honor means he’s taken the honor over four of the first five weeks of the season. Davis’ indoor campaign has been nothing short of amazing including this past weekend in New Mexico where he extended his world-leading mark in the long jump to 8.28 to win the event.  The mark ranks as the second-longest indoor long jump in FSU history. Jeremiah finished second in the triple jump on Saturday with a leap of 16.25m. He currently holds the top mark in the ACC this season and the third-best mark in the country with a personal-best 16.44m trip jump at Clemson on January 24. Noles Head to Boston and New Mexico

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State Track and Field Team will be competing in two invitationals this weekend, the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston. The Kirby Invitational will take place at the Albuquerque Convention Center with events starting at noon on Friday and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Hemery Invitational will take place at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center with events starting at 10 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday. Previewing the Noles Most of the Seminoles had a week of rest after three strong weekends to open the season. The men currently sit 11th in the indoor USTFCCCA poll. Davis Wins Third-Straight ACC Performer of the Week Award

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State Track and Field’s Jeremiah Davis was named the ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week for the third straight week on Tuesday afternoon. His indoor campaign is off to a tremendous start, beginning with a world-leading mark in the long jump at the Clemson Invitational followed by jumping a personal best (third-best in the country) in the triple jump at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Davis pushed his world-leading mark in the long jump further, jumping an incredible 8.21m on not only his first attempt but replicating the feat on his final attempt as well. The performance is tied for the second-best indoor long jump in FSU history, matching Ngoni Makusha’s 2009 attempt. The Noles will be back in action this weekend at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend this Saturday. Three Noles Post Top 10 Marks at Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Florida State Track and Field team had another great day at the Razorback Invitational as three Noles posted FSU all-time top ten marks on the final day of competition. After clocking the eighth-best time in school history last night in the 200m dash, freshman Dajaz DeFrand shined again, this time in the 60m dash as she finished second in the event with a time of 7.29. Her time puts tied for eighth in school history in the event. In the men's mile, Samuel Field put up a personal best time of 4:00.98 to climb up to No. 5 on FSU's all-time charts in the event. In the men's 3000m run, five Seminoles ran personal bests led by newcomer David Mullarkey. Mullarkey ran 7:58.86 to move to No. 9 on FSU's top ten list in the event. In the women's 3000m run, Alyson Churchill led the charge finishing third in the event with a time of 9:13.23.
